AloneAlone.
Some days I feel so alone, like a phantasm in the world of life.
I do not fear being alone.
I fear many things, but being alone is not something I think is worth fearing.
Then again it is a painful experience wondering if I will die with an atrophied heart.
I could always just go out and fill the loneliness with pointless encounters and brisk relationships with no meaning,
But I think I would prefer death alone to being emotionally stunted and not realizing it,
Maybe I was born in the wrong era, maybe my mate was here when the earth was younger and I ended up a thousand years to late into time,
Maybe I was made a human by mistake.

星を追う子ども (Children Who Chase Lost Voices from Deep Below)

Too many characters to fit into the title bar xD

These two characters are Shun and Shin. They are twin brothers (I'm PRETTY sure they're twins...not like you can tell from this picture lol) from Makoto Shinkai's newest movie. His movie premiered at Otakon just last weekend. He also held a Q&A panel, as well as an autograph session. I had the honour of meeting this genius animator-artist-director-storywriter so here is my tribute to his wonderful work. ^^

(I should also mention that this time around, someone ELSE designed his characters for him, which is why they actually look decent LOL. *bricked* )

Rough sketch on paper. Lineart and colour done with Paint Tool SAI. Tweaking done in PhotoShop CS5. This took about 2-3 days on and off.

I'm still trying hard to stick to cel shading but it seems like I just move further and further from it each time I attempt to CG xD;;;
Guess I'll continue to experiment.

EDIT: Sorry if this appears again. I'm a little OCD and realized I left out like 3 orange dots/stripes on one of the arms, haha. Went back in and added it.

I think it was a promotional trailer where I saw it, but I know for certain that there's a distinct age difference between Shun and Shin, just a couple of years. So they're not twins age-wise, only in appearance. Shun looked about 12 years old, and Shin perhaps 8.

yeah that was me... haha.... I cosplayed Pazu from Laputa: Castle in the Sky and I learned the song he plays so I played for Shinkai because Laputa is his favorite anime.
